Creating Homework Sets
Copying/renaming an existing assignment
WeBWorK will not allow you to rename a homework assignment, but it will allow you to clone assignments.
In the Homework Sets Editor, check the box next to the assignment you wish to clone.
Select “Create a new set named” and enter a name for your assignment. Note that spaces are not allowed.
Change “a new empty set” to “a duplicate of the first selected set” and click “Take Action!”
-
Note that your assignment will not be accessible to students until you
assign it to them.
Creating an assignment from scratch
In the Homework Sets Editor, select “Create a new set named” and enter a name for your assignment. Note that spaces are not allowed.
Click “Take Action!”
-
You can
add problems to your new assignment in several different ways.
Note that your assignment will not be accessible to students until you
assign it to them.
Importing a new assignment
If you or someone else has previously exported a homework set to a set definition file, you can turn that file back into a homework set.
Use the File Manager to place the set definition file (*.def) in the templates directory of your WeBWorK course.
In the Homework Sets Editor, select “Import” and choose from the menus as appropriate.
Click “Take Action!”
Make sure the
due dates on your imported assignment are correct.
Note that your assignment will not be accessible to students until you
assign it to them.
