WeBWorK makes it convenient for students to email whenever they get stuck. Some students will take advantage of this capability.

	*  In a large class without a lead TA, it may be impractical for an instructor to answer emails about anything other than technical issues. Students should be encouraged to visit office hours, TAs, or the Calculus Room for help.</description>

At the bottom of each problem page there is an “Email instructor” button. This allows students to easily send an email asking for help from within any problem. This has the potential to create a huge timesink for instructors/TAs. Good planning can alleviate this problem.</description>

Depending on the size of the class and the TA situation, it may make sense for student emails to go to the instructor, the lead TA, the regular TAs, or nobody.

	*  If you have a lead TA, it might make the most sense for them to receive emails. The lead TA generally has time to deal with administrative issues, and is also more aware of course-specific details than the WeBWorK TA.
